Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Hours: 20 hours weekly
Salary: $22,360 annually
Vision: The Family Ministry Coordinator exists to nurture and support children and families in their faith development. Building strong relationships with parents to help nurture families and their children to build their relationship with Christ.
Areas of Accountability:
1. Family & Community Engagement
● Develop supportive relationships and maintain open communication with children, parents, and families.
● Expand and coordinate regular children’s programming and special events to engage families in the community and reach out to new families (e.g., Preschool Chapel, Easter Egg Hunt, movie nights, picnics, etc.).
● Connect with the Missouri Annual Conference quarterly to gather ideas and resources to support families.
● Partner with volunteers to provide leadership, direction, and volunteer support for Vacation Bible School (VBS), engagement events, Sunday School, and Children’s Church.
● Develop fruitful relationships with Preschool families and staff.
2. Children’s Ministry
● Further develop and coordinate a complete children’s curriculum under the guidance of the Senior Pastor and in coordination with the Director of Little Blessings.
● Identify, recruit, equip, and deploy adult leaders in family ministries.
● Plan and publicize calendars regularly for children’s activities while coordinating with the church calendar, area school districts, and community events.
● Coordinate and implement children’s programming during Sunday morning worship and special services.
3. Curriculum & Programming
● Establish a faith-based curriculum for the Little Blessings staff to follow in classrooms and collaborate with the Director of Little Blessings to ensure the curriculum is being followed.
● Coordinate family mission projects in collaboration with the Youth Minister under the Supervision of the Senior Pastor.
● Ensure the Discipleship Path is being met in children’s curriculum.
● Work in collaboration with other staff members to ensure the missions of St. Paul’s UMC are lived out in all areas of discipleship.
4. Accountability Reporting:
● Attend both in-person and virtual events for family ministry events, or appoint a delegated representative.
● Reports to the Senior Pastor.
● Reports to the Leadership Team on a quarterly basis with status reports including measurable metrics.
